Three dimensional type contact detector
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and to improve the detection accuracy by a method wherein a bar type feeler is held floating in the main frame of the detector by means of a taper opposed type static pressure air bearing. CONSTITUTION: Within the main frame of the detector 12, the feeler 7 is installed and a contact sphere 8 is fitted at the lower end and a detection sphere 9 is fitted at the upper end of the feeler 7. The taper part 10 is installed at the intermediate position of the feeler 7 and an annular groove 10b is formed by a cone type sloping face 10a of the taper part 10 and a journal 11 opposed thereto. Compressed air is sent to this groove 10b through an air nozzle 14 to structure the taper opposed type static pressure air bearing. An output wire 18 is connected to the upper part of a contact sleeve 17. Therewith, corresponding to the displacement of the contact sphere 8, the detection sphere 9 is displaced, thus, a contact signal is output at a terminal 19, as a result, the structure of the detector is drastically simplified and the directional dependance caused by the detecting direction is eliminated, thus, improving the accuracy of detection.
