Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain optimal fuel injection starting timing by controlling an electromagnetic valve to adjust fuel pressure in a fuel injection starting timing adjusting mechanism by a controlling factor of an internal combustion engine and an output from a needle valve sensor of a fuel injection nozzle. CONSTITUTION: A control circuit 8 and an electromagnetic valve 9, which is driven by a control driving signal S 1 from the control circuit 8 to adjust fuel pressure, that is working pressure of a timer 6, in a fuel injection starting timing adjusting mechanism in a fuel injection pump 3 are provided so that the fuel injection starting timing can be automatically adjusted for the most appropriate timing. Outputs from an engine temperature sensor, an engine rotating speed detector 11, an upper dead point detector 12, a load detector 13, a lift sensor 14 for needle valve lifting timing detection of a fuel injection nozzle 7 are input to the control circuit 8. Then, a duty ratio is changed in accordance with each output to control average opening of the electromagnetic valve 9 to obtain the most appropriate injection starting timing.
