Manufacture of composite metal plate

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a composite metal plate of a high quality and having a uniform intensity of adhesion on the faying surface, by filling the metal powder, the inorganic powder or the like and their mixture into the hollow part of the barrel-shaped metal ingot and then giving the hot rolling to the ingot. CONSTITUTION:The powder 11 such as the metal powder, the ceramic powder or the like is filled into the hollow part of the hollow metal ingot 10 while giving vibration to the ingot. After this, the upper and lower opening parts 10a of the ingot 10, which are formed in correspondence to the leak hole and the injection hole, are respectively blocked with the cover plates 12 and 12' having the same composition as the ingot 10. And the vent holes 13 and 13' are provided to the plates 12 and 12' to secure a linkage to the inside each, and at the same time the carbonic powder 14 is filled into the space between the plates 12 and 12'. In such constitution, the gas produced from the powder 11 by heating is discharged through holes 13 and 13'. On the contrary, in case air comes in, O2 is converted into CO due to the powder 14 having a high temperature to prevent the internal oxidation. Such composite metal ingot is rolled by the ordinary hot rolling method to obtain a composite metal plate.
