Illuminator for copying machine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To save the electric power by lighting up the plural numbers of light sources arrayed vertically to the scanning direction of the original by the number equivalent to the copying size for illumination of the original. CONSTITUTION: The lamps LA1WLA6 are arrayed in a row to the socket S and vertically to the scanning direction of the original. Then the original is illuminated by lighting up the lamps in the number corresponding to the scanning width of the size of the copying paper. In such method, the lighting is eliminated for the unnecessary lamps to save the electric power. Furthermore, only the defective lamp can be replaced to reduce the cost of maintenance.
