Manufacture of gas separating membrane
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a gas separating membrane which is excellent in selective permeability of gas, by forming an extremely thin film of a mixture of methylpentene polymer and an alternating copolymer of alpha-olefine and maleic anhydride on a liquid film support. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 100pts.wt. a methylpentene polymer, e.g., poly(4- methylpentene-1), e.g., and 1W100pts.wt. an alternating copolymer of a 2W30C alpha-olefin, e.g., 1-hexadecene, and maleic anhydride is dissolved in a solvent e.g., cyclohexane, and then the solution is supplied and spread over a liquid film support to form an extremely thin film. The extremely thin film is used as a gas separating film, having excellent selective permeability for gas, particularly oxygen. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
