Device for measuring water content in sheet material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To improve measuring sensitivity by detecting variations in resonance voltage of the cavity resonant section corresponding to water contents of material being measured which make contact with the slit surface of the microwave cavity resonant section. CONSTITUTION: When transmitting and receiving antenna 3 in measuring cavity resonator 1 with high resonance Q is subjected to oscillation of frequency variable microwave, resonance voltage, which varies according to water contents of sheet material 11 making contact with the slit 2 of the resonator 1, is received by receiving antenna 3. Then, it is processed by the microwave detector 8 and peak value holding circuit 9, and D/C voltage corresponding to resonance peak voltage value which varies according to water contents is indicated on the indicator 10. As compared with the measurement of attenuation volume increase due to microwave absorption according to water contents, better measuring sensitivity can be obtained. Thus, it is possible to carry out high precision water content measurement with this simple and compact measuring device. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
