Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To make the adjustment and manufacture of the head easy and improve image resolution etc. by providing LED arrays on both sides of a 90° prism mirror. CONSTITUTION: The rays of the LED array 23, 24 arranged linearly to the headers 21, 22 on both sides of a 90° prism 25 reflect on the reflecting surface 25a, 25b of the prism 25 and become the rays of the same direction. The virtual images by light spots are then formed linearly without discontinuity on a photosensitive drum 27 via a focusing type optical fiber array 26. With this constitution, focusing is adjusted simply by moving the headers 21, 22 in the vertical directions. In addition, it is possible to provide the electrodes for the respective arrays 23, 24 and their connection lines on both sides of the headers 21, 22 and this facilitates the adjustment and manufacture of the headers and if these headers are used, the image resolution power is improved.
