Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide an anticorrosion agent which drastically enhances the anticorrosion ability of steel used in a circulation water system by a method wherein a water-soluble organic silanol alkali salt is used either singly or with a water-soluble polymer. CONSTITUTION: Water-soluble organic silanol salts include water-soluble alkali slats of monomethyl silanol, diethyl silanol, and tripropyl silanol. Water soluble polymers include, for example, copolymer of polyacrylic acid or methacrylic acid, etc. and other vinyl monomers, having molecular weight of 1,000W30,000. The anticorrosion effect of silanol salt is better when used with polymer than when used singly. For example, silanol salt is preferably added with 20W99.5% of polymer. Preferable contents in cooling water is 50ppm or more for single use of silanol salt and 30ppm or more in total concentration for use with polymer. This effectively prevent steel material from corrosion. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
