Rotating detector

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of the equipment by detecting the direction of rotation depending on the phase difference between two power sources and the output of light detection elements provided sandwitching a rotary slit plate rotating with the rotating body while having a slit and a fixed slit plate with two kind of slits facing each other. CONSTITUTION: Slits 5 and 6 are each provided on the rotary slit disc 3 and the fixed slit disc 4 both fixed on the rotating shaft 1a of a tape roller 1 at a pitch covering the entire circumference thereof in such a manner that only one slit 8 of the disc 4 is deviated by 1/2 with respect to the slit opening angle β. Lights l 1 and l 2 from light sources 10 and 12 pass through slits 6a and 8 respectively. The output 15a or 15b of a photocell 13 and the output 14 of a photocell 11 enter an FF circuit 17 via waveform shaping circuits 18 and 16 which output signals H and L to an output terminal 18 each corresponding to the directions of rotation A 1 and B 1 .
