Production of cellulose acetate fiber
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fiber having improved luster, transparency and resistance to devitrification, by wet spinning a spinning solution of a specific cellulose acetate into a coagulation bath, washing the coagulated fiber with hot water, and drawing and then heat-treating the washed fiber under specific conditions respectively. CONSTITUTION: Cellulose acetate having an average combined acetic acid content ≥55% is dissolved in a solvent, preferably dimethylacetamide. The solution thus obtained is wet spun into a coagulation bath, e.g. an aqueous solution of dimethylacetamide, washed with hot water at 90°C or below, drawn and the heat-treated at 150W230°C to give the aimed fiber. The draft ratio in the spinning step is preferably ≥1.3. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
