Preannouncement unit for end of tape

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To shorten the time when recording is impossible at the end of a tape by making preannouncement of the end of the tape by intermittently operating an announcing method before the tape ends and by putting the announcing method into different operation at the end of the tape. CONSTITUTION: This unit is equipped with generating unit 1 that outputs a pulse signal according to the rotation of the reel and generator 2 that outputs a reference pulse. Then, output pulses from unit 1 and generator 2 are compared 3 in terms of width and at the point in time when both pulse widths coincide, alarm unit L is put into operation. After both the pulse widths coincide, lamp L is turned on-off and its intermittent operation is quickened as the tape comes closer and closer to its end, making announcement of that. As the tape is further driven, lamp L is placed in the continuous lighting state. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
