Gas-sensitive substance
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the mechanical strength of the gas-sensitive substance itself without worsening electrical characteristics such as sensitivity by allowing a semiconductive metal oxide to contain a specific quantity of activated alumina. CONSTITUTION: The gas-sensitive substance is constituted by allowing a semiconductive metal oxide to contain 5W30wt% activated alumina. The activated alumina means not α-alumina but a porous alumina, such as γ-alumina, δ-alumina, ζ-alumia and the like, whose X-ray diffracted crystal structure obtained when hydrates of aluminium are baked at less than approximately 1,000°C shows a large specific surface area: more than approximately 100cm 2 /g.
