Infrared image pickup device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable the picking-up of an image around an infrared ray reception element, nearly without a dead angle, by moving a rotary shutter having a light transmission slit, along the outside surface of the element. CONSTITUTION:When a shutter 6 is rotated and a slit 8 is moved around an infrared ray reception element 1, a thin partial image made of light transmitted through the slit 8, in an ambient image composed of light condensed by a lens 12, is displaced across the parallel linear electrodes 3 of the light reception element 1. The change in each of electric signals picked out from the parallel linear electrodes 1 is observed to determine the whole distribution of the infrared ambient image.
