Cooler
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enahance the cooling efficiency of the cooler by forming grooves on the outer periphery at the positions corresponding to fin mounting position of a base member and engaging fins therewith. CONSTITUTION:The top 12 of the base member 11 is projected in hemispherical projection, and the grooves 13 are formed at constant interval thereon. The central cutout 15 of a brazing material is engaged with the groove 13, and fins 14 are aligned in parallel at constant interval longitudinally of the base member 11. Semiconductor elements 17 are aligned in parallel under the base member, and heat is dissipated through the fins 14. When bonding the fins to the base, the brazing material is flowed down on the surface of the fins 14 by its self-weight to fill the gap of the groove 14 so as to completely fill the gap between the fin and the base. In this manner, the gap between the base member and the fin can be completely filled and bonded therewith. Accordingly, it can improve the cooling effect so as to reduce the size of the cooler.
