Apparatus for winding cable, hose, and the like around reel

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide approximately constant speed and force of drawing out and taking up a cable and simplify adjustment of winding strength by using a sun drum together with planet one. CONSTITUTION: A take-up drum 5 is fixedly secured to the right end of a spindle 4 journalled horizontally by bearings 3 and a sun drum 6 to the left end of same, while one or two or more planet drums 7 are spaced from each other around the sun drum 6 with constant load springs 8 being attached to the planet drums 7 and fixed to the sun drum 6. Thus, since the load is approximately constant even if flexture of the spring 8 varies, speed and force of drawing out and taking up cable is approximately constant for safety. Also, since the number of the constat load springs 8 connected to the sun drum 6 can be adjusted by removably fixing the end of the spring 8 attached to the planet drum 7 to the sun drum 6 by fastening screws 9 if necessary, strength of taking up the cable can be simply adjusted.
