Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To shorten a time required for plate-making, by a method wherein, in a rotary stencil plate making device, a recorded portion of an original is detected when scanning the original and a subscanning speed for the original is controlled according to the outputted signals, whereby a subscanning speed at a pictureless portion is accelerated. CONSTITUTION: A light-receiving lens unit 10 for detecting a recorded portion of an original attached around a rotating drum 1 is constituted such that slits 14 and 15 are provided in a shield sheet 14 located at the rear of a condensing port 11, and reflection lights from lamps 6 and 7 are detected through the slits 14 and 15 by light-receiving elements 16 and 17. A detecting signal from the light-receiving element 17 is input to a recording needle 5, and a detecting signal from the light- receiving element 16 controls a drive circuit 30 of a stepping motor 2. The motor 2 is driven at a speed higher than a specified speed at a section where there is no recorded portion of the original, and a moving table 4 is displaced at a fast speed in a subscanning direction (arrow mark PQ).
