Removal of sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To suppress the formation of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides occurring during combustion, by using an emulsified fuel obtained by blending a specific absorbent for sulfur oxide with water in fuel oil with stirring. CONSTITUTION: A solution of one or more absorbents for SO x selected from the group consisting of CaO, Ca(OH) 2 , MgO, Mg(OH), NaOH, dolomite, calcium formate, and calcium salt of fatty acid is added to the water tank 13, and dissolved with stirring. The solution is blended with a pure fuel and a surface active agent for emulsion in the device 14 to prepare an emulsified fuel, which is fed to the boiler 4 to carry out combustion. The amount of the absorbent for SO x is 0.5W4 (preferably 0.6W1.5) calculated as equivalent ratio of alkali metal to S in the fuel oil. The amount of water added is 5W50wt% (preferably 10W30wt%) based on fuel oil. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
