Absorption of oscillation of machine foundation etc.

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To absorb horizontal and vertical natural oscillations of a foundation etc. at the same time by using a dynamic oscillation absorber made up of a spring having a horizontal and a vertical natural frequency and one common mass. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation on a vertical surface of a rigid body 10 is reduced remarkably as a whole when the horizontal component is absorbed by a horizontal oscillation-absorbing system consisting of a spring 14 having the horizontal natural frequency and a mass 18 and at the same time the vertical component is absorbed by a vertical-oscillation absorbing system consisting of a spring 15 having the vertical natural frequency and the mass 18. In one example of the practical structure of the dynamic oscillation absorber 13, the titled spring 21 of natural rubber should be placed between the supporters 19, 20 fixed by the mass 18 and the rigid body 10 and a performance of the springs 14, 15 should be given to this spring 21.
