Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To deliver the sense of a distance effectively to a driver or the like by a method wherein a period of interrupt an alarming sound is varied in accordance with a detected distance upon detecting the distance between a movable body and an obstacle and informing it to the driver or the like by a sound. CONSTITUTION: When a signal produced in an oscillating circuit 1 is emitted to the outside of a car or the like through an oscillator not shown in the diagram and is reflected by the obstacle, the reflected signal is received by a receiver, then, is amplified in the amplifying circuit 6 and is inputted into a comparating and deciding circuit 7, here, a time difference between the reflected signal and a signal from the oscillating circuit 1, that means an information (a) about a distance to the obstacle, is detected. This distance information (a) is inputted into an interrupted period signal producing circuit 11 and an interrupted period signal (c) having an interrupted period t s of the alarming sound and a pulse width t p is produced in accordance with the information (a). According to this method, the alarming sound having a pulse width t p and a frequency f o may be produced because a continuous signal (b) from the oscillating circuit 13 is interrupted by a switching circuit 12.
