Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To maintain the dissolving power of the acid liquid added with a corrosion inhibitor and remove scale efficiently by filtering said acid liquid with a filter having been precoated with a powdered cation exchange resin, in removing scale by said acid liquid. CONSTITUTION: In a method of removing scale of a boiler 1 or the like by the acid liquid added with a corrosion inhibitor, water is filled in the boiler, after which the water is circulated by a circulating pump 3 while being heated and is injected with an acid and a corrosion inhibitor etc. from a chemical feed tank 4 by a chemical feed pump 5, whereby it is made into the acid solution of a fixed concentration. This acid liquid is then passed and circulated through a filter 2 having been precoated with a powder ion exchange resin, whereby the pickling of the boiler 1 is accomplished. The above-mentioned precoating is accomplished by mixing the exchange resin and a fibrous filter aid to prevent the occurrence of cracking. In addition, a high-polymer electrolyte is added to the powdered cation exchange resin to give gaps to the precoating layer, thereby reducing air permeating resistance. Thus, even if the acid liquid of a low concentration used, its dissolving power is maintained by regenerating the acid liquid and the scale is removed with good efficiency.
