Secondary air controller
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent overloading of an air pump for appropriate secondary air to be fed to an exhaust system corresponding to the delivery pressure of air from the air pump of the secondary air feeding device for exhaust gas purification. CONSTITUTION: Secondary air passages A, B which are constituted of an air connecting port 9 and air feeding port 10 and are equipped with a control valve body 12, are connected to an exhaust pipe 3 of an engine 1. Also, above the passage, an air relief port 11 which can be opened by switching the valve 12 is provided. The valve 12 is interlocked with an actuator 16 which is controlled by a controller 19 into which signals from a pressure sensor 22 provided at the air connecting port 9 and other sensors 21, 23 of the engine 1. When the valve is below the constant value of the pressure sensor 22, the valve 12 adjusts the opening position, but when it is above the constant value, the valve is positioned at the location indicated in the figure to exhaust the whole air through the relief port 11.
