Thermal recording head
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction in the cost of, enhancement of reliability and the reduction in the size of a thermal recording head used for a printer or the like by intergrally constructing a heating element, a diode matrix and two types of drive circuits and the like for the thermal recording head. CONSTITUTION:This thermal recording head comprises a supporting substrate 21 including a plurality of heating elements 11 aligned on one line on a main surface thereof, wires 30 led out from the respective heating elements 11 at the side face of the substrate 21, a matrix wiring substrate 71-1 or the like having wires laid in a direction perpendicular to the wires 30, a plurality of diodes 22 forming a diode matrix selectively connected between the wires 30, and drive circuit substrates 14- 1, 14-2 selectively energizing the heating elements 11 through the diode matrix. Thus, the respective substrates are integrally formed to reduce the cost of and enhance the reliability of the thermal recording head 10.
