Treatment of exhaust gas by radioactive ray irradiation
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the running cost and the initial cost of an apparatus and to enhance the efficiency of desulfurization and denitration by a method wherein reaction temperature is kept within the specified range when NH 3 is added to exhaust gas containing SO x and NO x and radioactive rays are irradiated. CONSTITUTION: The temperature at the inlet 13 of a radioactive ray irradiation container 4 is detected. By the signal detected, an exhaust gas-temperature adjusting means 2 is operated, and the temperature of the gas at the inlet of the irradiation container is adjusted. By this adjustment, the reaction temperature is kept within the range of from 50W80°C, when the exhaust gas to which NH 3 from a NH 3 device 3 is added is irradiated through a window foil 10 by radioactive rays from a radiation source 3. Then the irradiated exhaust gas is passed through a dust collecting apparatus 7 and discharged from an outlet 8. As according to this method the reaction temperature is kept within the above range, desulfurization and denitration can effectively by carried out. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
