Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To set a head carrier at a position to replace with ease the ribbon during opening of the cover by a method wherein a head carrier is returned automatically to a predetermined ribbon replacing position by opening a printer cover. CONSTITUTION: A printer controller controls a printer element 6 so as to allow a head carrier 15 to move to the predetermined home position according to a cover open signal. On opening a printer cover 7 or turning-on the power, the head carrier 15 is automatically set at returned home position after completing the print operation. Namely, when the printer cover 7 is opened for replacing a ribbon, the head carrier 15 is automatically set at the optimum home position to enable replacement easily. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
