Apparatus for controlling throttle valve disposed in intake pipe of internal-combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To minimize occurrence of idling knock and fluctuation in rotational speed of engine, by providing in the intake system a throttle valve which is capable of keeping more than 50%, i.e., about 70% of air charging rate for engine when it is fully closed, and closing the throttle valve fully in low-speed, no-load operational range of engine. CONSTITUTION: Throttle valve 1 is formed with a hole 2 and opening area of the hole 2 is determined such that air charging rate is more than 50%, that is, about 70% when intake pipe 3 is closed completely by the throttle valve 1. Here, arrangement is such that throttle valve 1 is fully closed in low-speed, no-load operational range of engine but it is kept in its fully opened position in other operational range of engine. For this purpose, throttle valve 1 is connected to diaphragm 41 of diaphragm means 4 by means of rod 5, and vacuum chamber 42 of means 4 is communicated to vacuum tank 7 via electromagnetic valve 6. In fuel injection pump 8, on the other hand, there is provided a limit switch 10 which is operated when load control lever 9 is moved toward its closing direction under no-load condition, and the above-mentioned electromagnetic valve 6 is connected to power source 11 via the limit switch 10.
