Power steering system
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain more proper feelings for steering by selecting a preset steering output control pattern based on detected values of car-speed, car-load, tire pressure, road resistance and the like and controlling a control solenoid at a position of a register rod. CONSTITUTION: A power steering system has a flow control portion interposed in a flow passageway introducing discharged oil from a pump into a power steering portion, and the control portion is constituted with a variable orifice comprising a register rod, inserted into an communicating hole provided in the flow passageway and movable in back-and-forth. The register rod is operated by a solenoid 34 excited in accordance with a steering resistance. In this case, a car-speed sensor 40A, a load-sensor 40B, a tire pressure sensor 40C, a road sensor 40D capable of being switched in accordance with a road condition, a sensor 40E discriminating a steering-wheel operating frequency and a switch 40F, to switch output characteristics in accordance with a preference, are provided in this system and the solenoid 34 is controlled by a most suitable steering output control pattern selected from a control circuit 41 being based on the outputs of the above-described sensors and the like.
