Glass composition
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a glass composition capable of being burned at low temp. on an incombustible substrate, such as aluminum plate, by substituting the oxides of metals of groups IIA and IA for one or more parts of each of CaO and Na 2 O of a mother glass formed by adding SnO 2 , TiO 2 , and ZrO 2 to the fundamental glass of predetermined composition. CONSTITUTION: A mother glass is formed by adding SnO 2 , TiO 2 , and ZrO 2 to 100wt. pts. of the fundamental glass of composition in wt. percentage shown in formula I, in an amount of wt. pts. shown in formulae II. One or more parts of CaO of the mother glass are substituted by BaO, ZnO, SnO, or MgO up to a molar ratio surrounding 4 points (a, b, c, d) of formula III, and one or more parts of Na 2 O are substituted up to a molar ratio surrounding 4 points (e, f, g, h) of formula IV to form the title glass composition. This composition permits heat treatment to be carried out at a low temperature of 520 to 670°C on incombustible substrates, such as thin steel plate or aluminum plate and occurrence of fish scales and oxidized steel to be prevented in high temperature heat treatment.
