Polyethylene composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the environmental stress cracking resistance of a polyethylene resin, by adding an ethylenic ionomer resin composed of ethylene component and an unsaturated carboxylic acid component which is partially neutralized with metallic ions. CONSTITUTION: A resin composition composed of (A) parts by weight of a high density polyethylene resin having a density of pref. 0.95W0.97 and (B) 1W20 parts of an ethylenic ionomer resin composed of (a) 90W99mol%, pref. 92W 97mol% of ethylene and (b) 1W10mol%, pref. 3W8mol% of an unsaturated carboxylic acid such as (meth)acrylic acid, wherein 5W90%, pref. 10W70% of the carboxylic acid is neutralized with metallic ions such as Na, Ca, Mg, Zn, Al, etc., which act as a crosslinking agent of the ethylene copolymer.
