Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity without increasing the inertia of moving part, by mutually linking a plurality of magnetic head arms with reinforced members. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic heads 151-153 are fitted to the tip via the support plates 141-143, the first to third stage arms minimizing the weight to minimize the inertia to the extent that the read-in/write-in operation can not be hindered, and the magnetic head 156 are mounted via the support plate 144 at the tip, and the fourth arm 134 giving slightly longer and strong construction so that the stability of the servo system can not be injured, is linked with the auxiliary ribs 161-163 to constitute the arm constituent 13 movable around the shaft 12 with the base 135. Thus, the rigidity of the arm constituent 13 can be increased without increasing the inertia and the track seek time can be shortened.
