Catalyst element
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To raise the impact resistance and productivity of a catalyst element by the manufacturing method in which the projection of the convexed tip of corrugated metal spacers is hooked on the projections of the convexed tips of corrugated metal spacers to fix and then wound by rolling. CONSTITUTION: The holes 6 are bored at the convexed tipes of the corrugated metal spacers 5 of a thin stainless steel plate, etc., by piercing pin through the tip, etc., so as to form the fins 7 on its outside, and then they are rolled together in such a way that the fins 7 of the metal spacers 5 are fitted into the meshes of the cloth catalyst 4 to form a catalyst element. Thus, the cloth catalyst 4 and the metal spacer 5 are securely fixed and thereby its resistance to vibration and impact is made higher. The dimension of the fin 7 of the metal spacer 5 is set in conformity with the thickness of the cloth catalyst and the size of its mesh. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
