Lead-in part of optical fiber for submarine repeater
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make the constitution of the optical fiber lead-in part simple and make high-airtight assembling easy by inserting an optical fiber into a pressure-resistant circular tube and connecting the same to a repeater pressure-resistant housing body by means of welding or an adhesive agent such as epoxy. CONSTITUTION:The terminal part of the optical fiber 1 exposed to outside a pressure-resistant circular tube 2 is connected to a connective sleeve 5 by an adhesive agent 6 such as epoxy. Thence, a connecting circular tube 7 is inserted from the end of the optical fiber 1 and a sleeve 5 and circular tube 2 are welded to this circular tube. When in this state the end of the optical fiber 1 is connected to a repeater electric circuit part 3 and the circular tube 2 is pressed to the end part of a repeater pressure-resistant housing body 4 by means of a set nut 8, the lead-in part is assembled air- and water-tightly by the weld zones 7 thru 1, 7 thru 2 and the tapered parts 7 thru 3 of the circular tube 7. This constitution makes the optical fiber lead-in part for submarine repeaters simple and permits easy assembling to high airtightness.
