Actuator of rotary arm type

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent harmful vibrations of bobbin and arm by providing a coil assembly with a reinforcing member and a magnet assembly with an escape groove. CONSTITUTION: To reinforce bobbin 261 of coil assembly 26 of a rotary arm type actuator, a couple of reinforcing members 263 and 264 are provided and in magnetic-body pieces 274 and 275 of magnet assembly 27, escape grooves 278 and 279 preventing contact with reinforcing members 263 and 264 are formed. Consequently, the strength of coil assembly 26 increases to prevent harmful vibrations of an arm fitted to one terminal of coil assembly and bobbin 261. Consequently, the magnetic head can rapidly be positioned on a desired track with precision and greater rotation force can be obtained by the same current in comparison with an increase in the strength by increasing the thickness of bobbin 261.
