Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce an equalization error by controlling an equalizer by detecting a spectrum by giving an automatic sweep in a desired band by a reception system, by spectrum-scrambling a signal to be transmitted originally, as to transmission distortion generated on the transmission line. CONSTITUTION:An input digital signal from input terminal 11 is converted by scramble circuit 12 into a string of random pulses, which are transmitted from transmitter 13 to transmission line 14, and they are amplified by receiver 15 and then supplied to equalizer circuit 16. Equalization characteristics of equalizer circuit 16 are controlled by equalization control circuit 17 and its output is branched by power distributor 18 to signal output terminal 19 and signal spectrum characteristic detection circuit 21. Detection circuit 21 detects the spectrum level of each frequency by a frequency sweep and this detection signal is compared with a reference spectrum level stored in memory unit 22 by amplitude characteristic detector 23 to detect amplitude characteristics, which are supplied to control circuit 17 to control equalizer 16.
