Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To lower the reduction in the amount of information generated, by providing the means selecting either one of the fields forecast and frames forecase, providing the quantized circuit in which the quantized step can be varied, and selecting the fields forecast to the picture having rapid movement, through coarse quantized step. CONSTITUTION:The subtraction between the PCM signal from the terminal 1 and the forecase signal 25 from the multiplexer 7 is made at the subtractor 2, the signal forecast error signal is quantized at the quantization circuit 3, and the error signal quantized and the signal 25 are added at the adder 4. The local demodulation signal obtained by this addition is fed to the field delay circuit 5 to output the fields forecast signal 330 at the output, and the signal 30 is fed to the delay circuit 6, output is made to the output for the frames forecast signal 20, and the forecast signal 25 is outputted with the selection of the multiplexer 7 for the signals 30 and 20. the quantized step of the circuit 3 with this constitution is constituted so that it can be varied in quantization step, and the quantizaion step is controlled with the output of the control circuit 8 to monitor the output of the buffer memory 10.
