Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To make compact the construction of a safety valve employing a cylindrical magnet, by detecting the fluid pressure difference between a feed pipe and a discharge pipe on a valve element. CONSTITUTION: When a safety valve is reset, a fluid feed port 64 and a fluid discharge port 66 is connected with each othr because a valve element 26 is separated from a valve seat 28. When an earthquake occurs, a magnetic ball 18 of a valve operating section 12 is moved up. At that time, the valve element 26 is pushed up and placed on the valve seat 28 to shut off passage of a valve casing 10. To reset the valve element 26 after that, a resetting rod 34 is moved down first so that the magnetic ball 18 is moved up by the pressure difference between an upper and a lower chambers and the valve element 26 is closed. If a pipe on the side of the fluid discharge port 66 is shut off, the pressure difference is eliminated and the magnetic ball 18 is retained on a holder 20 so that the valve element 26 can be reset.
