Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent ineffective transmission ineffective holding of a circuit by checking the state of a storage memory at a start of reception and then by sending out a signal stopping transmission when storage is impossible. CONSTITUTION: Facsimile transmitting terminal 1 attains access to storage converter 2 first and informs it of a party-side terminal number. Control circuit 3 of converter 2 makes a check on the in-use state of picture signal storage memory 6 in its own unit and makes inquiries to storage converter 8 equipped in party-side receiving terminal 12 through control signal receiver circuits 7 and 10. Control circuit 9 of storage converter 8 makes a check on whether picture signal storage memory 11 is congested abnormally and sends its result back to circuit 7 of unit 2 through circuit 10. As a result, circuit 3 sends a permit-to-send signal to terminal 1 through control signal sending circuit 5 on confirming that memory 6 has a free area and party unit 8 and receiving terminal 12 are normal. When memory 6 is in use or party-side unit 8 is congested, an inhibit-to-send signal is sent out. In this way, unneeded transmission is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
