Reproducing unit for color video format signal

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To discriminate video or audio signal by detecting the presence of color burst signal in each frame of color video format signal. CONSTITUTION: The detector such as heat sensing is located near the recording media such as video tape, and the electric signal obtained by relative movement of recording media and detector is fed to the input terminal 1. This electric signal is demodulated into the color video format signal with the demodulation circuit 2. If the color burst is present in the color video format signal from the demodulator 2, the burst separation circuit 3 feeds the color burst signal to the discrimination circuit 4. When the discrimination circuit 4 confirms the presence of the color burst signal, the discrimination signal is fed to the selection circuit 5. It processes the video format signal as video signal at the reception of the discrimination signal and treats the format signal as audio signal at no reception of discrimination signal.
