Brake for vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent a vehicle from unexpectedly starting moving, by automatically actuating and maintaining a mormally used brake in operation when the vehicle is stopped. CONSTITUTION: When an accelerator pedal is released, an accelerator pedal switch 15a is opened. When a clutch is disengafed after the stoppage of the vehicle and its transmission is neutralized and a clutch pedal is released to engage the clutch again, a clutch pedal switch 15b connected to the clutch pedal is opened and a start sensor 15 is turned on. When a brake pedal 1 is released after the stoppage of the vehicle, a brake pedal switch 13 is turned on to close a control circuit to energize an electromagnetic three-way valve 11. As a result, pipes 7d, 7g are disconnected from each other, the pipe 7d is connected to the atmosphere through another pipe 7f and an air cleaner 8 and the atmospheric pressure enters into a working chamber 10c of a stopping booster 10. A power piston 10b is thus held on a flange 3c of a rod 3b to set the hydraulic pressure of a cylinder 3 in a braking state. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
