Measurement of rotational accuracy of bearing
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to highly accurately measure the radial and axial deflections of inner and outer wheels with the use of the set on a single device by effecting the measurements while a pair of measuring elements being in contact at their rotating of fixed side with the portion to be measured under their facing condition. CONSTITUTION: A bearing 3 to be measured is fixed at its inner ring to a rotary table 2, and a holding ring which is prevented from its rotations by a pin 6 is fitted on the outer ring. Then, a load is applied thereto. A member 21 is clamped on a spring 19 which extends in parallel from a stationary portion 12. The member 21 is formed with a projection 20 and a measuring element 22 of an electric micrometer. If now, the measuring element 22 is applied to the inner circumference of the inner ring and if the table 2 is turned, the projection 20 is moved to such an extent as is the addition of the radial deflection of the table 2, the set deflection of the inner ring and the radial deflection of the inner ring, but the measuring element 22 detect only the radial deflection. If the measuring element is applied to accomplish the similar measurements, the axial deflection is measured. Since, in this way, the whole accuracy can be measured by the single setting operation, the method of the invention is convenient in a test piece such as a large bearing which might otherwise be difficult for the operations. Since, moreover, the value eliminating the error of the meter is obtained, the measuring accuracy is excellent. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
