Derosine burning wick
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To suppress accumulation of tar at a kerosine burnig wick by containing less than 10% of inorganic binder by weight and alkaline or alkaline earth metal at the wick. CONSTITUTION: A wick spinned with glass core and staple fiber core is contained with inorganic binder consisting of alkaline metal silicate, acidic metal phosphate, alumina sol and silica zol, and less than 10% of alkaline or alkaline earth metal by weight of the wick. 5W15% of potassium carbonate is mixed in the inorganic binder at this time. The wick of 3mm thick, 15mm high, and 80mm long and 1.8g weight is formed, for example, of spinned fiber of 20 wt% of glass core of 7W9μ in dia. and 20 wt% of staple fiber core. After the wick end of 10mm is dipped in a solution dissolved with 0.1g of potassium carbonate in an aqueous solution of 100g containing lithium silicate of 2 wt% (2LiO 2 .9SiO 2 ) for 8 minutes, it is dried and solidified at 100°C for 30 minutes.
