Fm stereo radio receiver

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion of autio output due to malfunction of the stereo demodulator, by controlling the left and right separation of the demodulation circuit with the output signal of the multi-path detection circuit. CONSTITUTION:The circuit employs the low pass filter 10 which attenuates the sub-carrier component of the detected output signal with the output signal of the multi-path detector 9, and the low pass filter 10 consists of the resistors 11, 12, 16, capacitors 13, 14 and transistor 15, and the resistors 11, 12 and the capacitors 13, 14 are inserted between the detector 5 and the stereo demodulator 6 to constitute the low pass filter attenuating the frequency more than the sub-carrier frequency band. Further, another end of the capacitors 13 and 14 is connected to the collector of the transistor 15. Thus, only when the demodulater is in malfunction due to the effect of the multi-path, reception is selected from stereo to monoral to avoid the distortion in the audio output due to malfunction of stereo demodulator.
