Compact vertical motor

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To block water from entering a lower ball bearing and prevent it from rusting, by placing a boss for the ball bearing at a level higher than the inside bottom surface of an end bracket and by fitting a rotary shaft with a drip plate which covers the boss. CONSTITUTION: The shaft 15 of a vertical motor extends downward. A projection is provided on the boss for the lower ball bearing 6 so that the top of the projection is located at a level higher than the inside bottom surface of the end braeket 4A. The drip plate 11 is fitted on the shaft 15 to cover the boss and is held between a C- ring 7 and the ball bearing 6. As a result, water drops 13 or dusts 14 on the inside bottom surface of the end bracket 4 are blocked from entering the ball bearing 6 and the bearing is prevented from rusting.
