Ferritic stainless steel having excellent hot dipping property and brazing property
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To give excellent hot dipping property and brazing property to ferritic stainless steel, by addn. of Si, Mn, Al, Cu, and Ni and specific ratios to the ferritic stainless steel, then by annealing and pickling the steel to improve the steel surface. CONSTITUTION: A ferritic stainless steel is manufactured which comprises ≤0.10% C, 13.0W25% Cr, ≤0.30% Si, ≤0.50% Mn, 0.005W2.00% Cu, 0.01W2.00% Ni, ≤0.03% Al. The stainless steel is annealed, then electrolytically or chemically pickled. Hereby in the outermost surface of the product is formed a layer which is highly reactive with molten metal, poor in Si, Mn, Al and rich in Cu, Ni, so that hot dipping property and brazing property are remarkably improved.
