Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent skim or suction of paint film, by using a specified undercoat paint, when coating the metal material with undercoat liquid paint film and top coat powder paint film by two-coat, one-bake painting. CONSTITUTION: A liquid paint of which condensation product amount generated at the time of baking is, for instance, less than 17 wt.% of the total solid matter weight of the paint (preferably 4 to 13 wt.%) is used as the undercoat coloring liquid paint. This liquid paint is prepared by dissolving or dispersing the resin component consisting of 100 parts of resin, for instance, made of 3 to 12% of hydroxy alkyl methacrylate, 20 to 97% of acrylic ester, and 0 to 68% of other copolymerizable monomer, and 2 to 10 parts of melamine resin, in solvent together with pigment and thermoplastic resin. The painting method is to coat the surface of metal material with said undercoat coloring liquid paint by about 10 to 40μ, allowing it to set, and further coat with top coat transparent powder paint by about 40 to 15μ, allowing it to set, and bake at about 150 to 200°C for 15 to 30 minutes.
