Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To discriminate am or pm at a glance by altering the color of an indicator for indicating the time. CONSTITUTION: The frequency of a standard oscillator 1 is divided by a frequency divider 2, and converted through a counter by a decoder 6 into a time display signal. This signal drives and indicates through a drive circuit 7 an LCD9. When the time is changed from am to pm or vice versa, a discriminator 10 discriminates the change to produce a discrimination signal therefrom. This signal alters the voltage supplied from a power supply circuit 8 to a drive circuit 7 to accordingly alter the color of the LCD9. This is similarly operated in case of an analog display by the LCD. Since the color of the display number is altered between the am and the pm, it can provide a watch which can be readily identified.
