Curing of photosensitive resin layer
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To effect curing with excellent workability and power efficiency by using a discharge flash bulb having specific pulse width to irradiate liquid photosensitive resin curable with irradiation of ultraviolet ray in the range of wavelength less than 4,500Å. CONSTITUTION: Printing ink, coating material, etc. utilizing uncured liquid photosensitive resin having main photosensitive characteristic in the range of wavelength less than 4,500Å is cured by the use of ultraviolet ray irradiation. At this time, instead of the conventional mercury discharge lamp, cold light source of flash discharge lamp consisting of glass tube containing sealed rare gas such as Xe gas and that provides momentarily total design light quantity is applied as ultraviolet irradiation source. Pulse width (1/3 value of crest height) t of flash light emitted by flash discharge lamp is controlled to 0.05≤t≤4msec. Liquid resin cures in a moment without leaving uncured section or causing bubble formation. This accelerates work, eliminates unrequired power consumption, and provides high efficient curing operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
