Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To protect circuits other than synchronizing and timer circuits from troubles and improve the reliability by a method wherein whether synchronous signals are produced at normal intervals is confirmed by comparing it with a timer output and when there happens disagreement, the operation is halted. CONSTITUTION: As soon as a synchronous signal b is detected, a timer 7 is reset and at the same time a counter 6 counts "1". Subsequently whether the counter 6 counts "12", that is, whether printing has been completed is determined or not completed, coincidence detection of a printing information with the contents of the counter 6 is carried out by a coincidence circuit 8. Coincidence positions only are stored temporarily in a memory 9, the output of printing positions is produced, the signals are transmitted temporarily to the memory 9 and a hammer concerned 11 is driven. After that, the timer 7 is again started and perform the same operations. When the synchronous signal b is not produced, the timer 7 operates at a constant time, the reset of the temporary memory 9 and printable conditions of a hammer driving circuit 10 are released.
