Stabilized urethane polymer

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve light and heat resistance of a urethane polymer, by adding a specific compound to the polymer. CONSTITUTION: Preferably 0.05W1 part by wt. of a compound, e.t. formula III, shown by the formula I: (R is H or lower alkyl : X is H, hydroxyl alkyl or alkenyl ; Y is alkyl, alkenyl, or phenyl ; n is 1 or 2) is added to 100 parts by wt. of a urethane polymer. Since the compound serves as a calalyst when added to the polymer before or during polymerzation, a polymerization catalyst is desirably unnecessary or reduced to a small amount (1/10W1/100 the amount of the conventional method).
