Abstract PURPOSE: In the preparation of title compound by halogenation of a thiophenesubstituted fatty acid with a halogenating agent, the water in the fatty acid is removed by using an organic solvent in the form of an azeotropic mixture, thus simplifying the process and improving the yield.
