Intermittent fuel injector
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To appropriately rotate an engine when it idles, by providing a fuel injector which injects fuel from a single injection valve to the coupled parts of intake pipes. CONSTITUTION: When the fuel injector 3 is applied to a compound carburetor, the injector is provided at an intake cylind 6 and connected to an intake passage through a major-diameter part 10 and a minor-diameter part 12. A secondary air passage 11 is opened in a tangential direction on the major-diameter part 10 so that the part 10 acts as a swirl chamber. When the engine is idling, the fuel is injected from the injection valve 3. At that time, air is supplied from the secondary air passage 11 to the major-diameter part 10 while swirling. The fuel is involved into the swirling air and reserved for a certain time by the minor-diameter part 12. The fuel is then supplied to the engine. As a result, the ratio of the fuel injection time to the intake time is increased and the rotation of the idling engine is smoothed. COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
